And the winner is.....

As soon as I got home today I got cracking on my 'prize draw!' I put all the names on small bits of paper like you do for secret santa and put them into a hat (or bag in this case!)

I then shook them about a bit and pulled out the lucky winner!

And the Winner is SANDRA from Beauty Balm !! Well done Sandra...the goodies will be making their way to you soon! xx

Perfume Sample Challenge

Hey everyone!

I had a good sort out of all my beauty bits and bobs today and I come across this mass of perfume samples! Because they were all in different places I didn't realise quite how many I had!

I am setting myself the challenge of using up all these samples within the next month (or so!!) and not touching ANY of my full size perfumes! you never know I might find one that's a keeper!

Contrary to what we may have been told by Glossybox...most of these have actually come from Debenhams (you just have to find the right one ;-)  the smaller ones seem to be better!)

Have you ever set yourself a challenge similar to this? If so I would love to hear about it!

Birthday Mini Giveaway!

Hello everyone!

Because it was my birthday yesterday and I am in a very good mood because there is a long weekend ahead (no work for 3 days yey!!) I have decided to do a mini giveaway...My first! I thought my birthday and a bank holiday weekend were as good a reason as any!

I am going to be giving away a Nails Inc nail polish in Duchess Street (a deep royal purple creme), balance me hand lotion and an e.l.f Mineral eyeshadow in Earthy which is a lovely sparkly neutral green.

(Apologies for the Naff photo, its really stormy here so I have had to close the curtains and put the light on which has made it really yellow!!)

All you have to do to be in with a chance of getting your hands on these babies is:

1) Connect using GFC
2) Comment below!

I will then put all names into a hat and draw out a winner on Tuesday 28th August!

Good luck everyone!

ForGoodnessGrape - Lemon Cupcake lip scrub

Well Hello everyone!

This is my first product review and I am slightly anxious about it but here we go!

I have decided to review a Lip Scrub from the lovely Lisa who runs an Etsy shop selling her fab lip products online, these products are shipped from Maryland in the USA internationally. This has been my go to product since I received it and I think it is a must have for anyone that has a problem with chapped lips!

All the Lip Scrubs from ForGoodnessGrape are handmade to order and made from high quality natural ingredients so you know you aren't getting something mass produced and full of preservatives and nasties which is a bonus!

I received my Lip Scrub in the July edition of the Beautylishious and the flavour I was given was Lemon Cupcake...now I wasn't too sure if it would actually smell like a lemon cupcake but it really does! There were 4 flavours on offer and this was the one I was hoping for the most :-)

(I forgot to take a picture of the scrub before I bashed it about in my handbag so Lisa let me borrow one!!)

The lip scrub itself has a super moisturising balm base and is embedded with chunky sugar crystals. The sugar crystals scrub away the top layer of dry skin on your lips and the balm moisturises at the same time. I think this offers a distinct advantage over the popular Lush lip scrub as it combines a scrub and a balm into one (with the same advantage of being able to lick the sugar off your lips afterwards!)

I work in an air conditioned office and almost always have chapped lips but thanks to this neat little treat they have been kept in great condition and moisturised which means I can wear lipstick more often! The balm is so moisturising and smells divine...it also lasts a long time on the lips which is great!

I think this has become one of my favourite products and I will definitely be investing in more! The flavour range great and always being updated, plus, Lisa caters for custom orders too and you only have to ask if it is possible to make any flavour you want!

You can find these lip scrubs in the Esty shop here : ForGoodnessGrape or you can shop online on the regular website here : ForGoodnessGrapeShop.

As an added bonus Lisa has given me a discount code to give out to my blog readers. Enter: TRYME2DAY on any order in the Etsy shop to receive 10% off! Think I will be heading over there now.....

TTFN!

HELLO! First post!

Hello everyone! I will start with introductions, my name is Michelle and I am in my *ahem!* LATE 20's and I love all things beauty related! I am a Scientist and have a PhD in Chemistry and I really want to show that not all scientists are geeks, well, errrrm, I guess we are, but being a geek doesn't mean that you can't be glamorous too!

I am going to provide you with my honest opinion on everything from body butter to Lipstick and shower gel! I will also be reviewing monthly beauty boxes that I receive. I hope that you enjoy my blog and please also leave your views an opinions on products too because I love to hear them!

I started my love affair with cosmetics at about age 13 and have been trying all kinds of brands and products ever since! I still have a lot to learn, I am still looking for that perfect foundation and skincare regime so if you have any hints or tips for me then please share them with me!

Ta ta for now!
